1 TT-Medal Test Platform

Requirement/Problem description
The acceptance of the TTCN-3 technological approach requires a comprehensive set of tools that support the test developer and/or test operator work.

Solution
A base toolset for a TTCN-3 infrastructure and platform has been defined. Auxiliary tools and tool interfaces have been identified.

Prototype and tools
The fundamentals of the TTCN-3 test infrastructure is supported by TTworkbench, which has been extended in the TT-Medal project by further supporting facilities. such as the test generation tools (e.g. integration of the Classification Tree Editor) or import of domain-specific interface specification (e.g. XML-based MOST functional catalog, IDL interface descriptions).

Demonstrator
The tools have been implemented and demonstrated as part of the TT-medal case studies.

2 TestFrame and TTCN-3

Requirement/Problem description:
TestFrame is a methodology which separates test specification from test automation and is de facto standard in the financial domain. Tests within TestFrame are specified in a proprietary test format called TestFrame Language (TFL). In the financial domain administrative systems are tested through their graphical user interface (GUI). For the application of TTCN-3 in the financial domain there is a need to relate it to TFL and the GUI testing module of TestFrame.

Solution:
Create a mapping of the test languages TFL and TTCN-3 and integrate the GUI testing module of TestFrame within the TTCN-3 testing architecture.

Prototype and tools:
The execution environment and test tools for the demonstrator on the financial domain has been developed for exhibitions and to support sales activities.

Demonstrator
The demonstrator shows the process of translating TestFrame test designs written in TFL to an abstract test suite (ATS) in TTCN-3, compilation to an executable test set (ETS), test selection and execution with a test manager tool and analysis of log files. The system under test (SUT) is GLOBUS, a banking application with a graphical user interface (GUI) that is typical for the financial domain.
